We got Moka with the hope that our first child would grow up with a dog by their side. We pictured them together, chasing each other through the yard, building a bond only kids and dogs understand. But life had other plans. The pregnancy didn’t make it. And suddenly, the house that was meant to feel full, felt painfully quiet.
That’s when Moka stepped in, without asking, without needing to. Just with his big eyes, quiet presence, and a heart full of something we didn’t even realise we needed; Comfort. He gave us something to care for, a reason to wake up, a new rhythm. In so many ways, he saved us. Or at least steadied the ship while we tried to find our footing again.
That’s why this tag matters. Not because it’s a nice accessory, but because our dogs aren’t just dogs. They’re our family, our crew, our first mates. The First Mate Tag is made from solid sterling silver, with a raw hammered texture to reflect all the knocks and tumbles that come with real life. It’s got a clean cut-out bone to mark their role, and a generous bail to attach to any collar.
This isn’t something mass-made or off the shelf. It’s made in the Macedon Ranges, like everything at Sailors and Seekers. Hand-finished, with heart. Because if you’re anything like us, your dog is your kid. And they deserve nothing less than the real thing.

I got this ring as a gift and the details and quality of this ring just shows it was made with time, effort and love. I don't think I could of picked a better jeweller to make such a perfect gift. Javi was beyond accommodating, not only making sure I got the piece in time but whilst having flawless communication, answering countless questions, fast replies and going out of his way to update me on the process. Unfortunately I ended up picking the wrong size since I wanted it to be a surprise and when informing Javi, he went out of his way again to make sure the exchange process was super easy for me, sorting everything out immediately.
